Estelle "Stella" C. McWeeney 97, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2025.
She was born May 21, 1928, to the late Harry and Mabel Ziegler in the Bronx.
Stella married the love of her life, Thomas McWeeney, and had 8 children.
They moved to Sidney Center in 1970. She was an active member of the Sidney Center Ladies Auxiliary, the Moose Lodge in Sidney as well as the VFW for many years.
Stella worked at the Sidney Center Post Office as the PMR for many years.
She was well known in the community and famous for her meatballs and homemade sauce. Many people talk about smelling that sauce simmering and making their way to her house to score some!
She is predeceased by her husband, Thomas, her parents, brothers, sisters as well as Her son, Thomas and daughter, Jeanette Jean.
Stella is survived by her children, Maureen, Mike, Jim, Sean, Estelle and Catherine. She has many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
