Jonathan Ray Seeley, 78, of Masonville, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 6, 2025. He was born on March 9, 1947, son of George and Marion Seeley. Jon attended Sidney Central School, becoming an Eagle Scout in 1965 and graduating with the class of 1966.

He went on to Delhi Tech, graduating in 1968 with an AAS in Animal Husbandry. On March 17, 1968, he married Judy Young. On March 3, 1969, Jon enlisted with the US Navy Seabees. He was deployed to Vietnam from January 1970 until September 1970. Following his honorable discharge, Jon worked as a milk tester as well as helped to build Interstate 88. For 25 years, he drove tractor trailers for Breakstones in Walton, then worked for Joshua House and Broome Developmental Center, finally retiring in December 2023.

In his spare time, Jon was a 4H leader for 15 years, a Boy Scouts Scoutmaster for 30 years, and served as a Director for the Delaware County Fair Board for 40 years.

He will be missed by his loving wife of 57 years, Judy Seeley; four children: Jonna (Mike) Fussa, Jeri (John) North, Jason (Rebecca) Seeley and Jodi McCann; Grandchildren: Justin North, Alisa (Matt) Silveria, Kayla (Ty) Breadlove, Mindy (Spencer) Fallin, Aaron Dann (Brittany Amparo), Autumn Dann (Lyman Bothwell), Daniel McCann, Julia McCann, Liam Seeley and Cole Seeley; and Great-Grandchildren: Caroline North, Cooper North, Charlie North, Clara North, Skylar Silveria, Thomas Silveria, Braxton Breadlove, Daniel Amparo, Ivy Dann, Ellie Dann, Odin Lasorda and Anthony Lasorda; sister, Helen (Don) Votra; and sister-in-law, Velma Seeley.

He was predeceased by his parents, George and Marion Seeley, brother, David Seeley, and son-in-law, Dan McCann.

Friends are invited to call from 3:00-5:00pm on Sunday, July 13, 2025 at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney, NY 13838. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, July 14th at the funeral chapel. Burial with military honors will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Sidney.
