Obituary of Thelma N. Dean

Thelma Niles Dean passed away June 9, 2025 peacefully in Winter Haven, Florida with her daughter and granddaughter by her side. She was 99 years old.
She was born to Pauline Chase and Earl Niles on December 2, 1925 in Sidney, New York.
She married the love of her life, Millard Dean, on November 2, 1946; he predeceased her in 2011.
She is survived by her son, Gary (Arlene) Dean (Cortland, NY) and daughter Pat Dean (Winter Haven, FL); grandchildren: Nathan Dean (California), Chava Dean (Arizona), and Carrie (Shane) Bossman (Florida); her sister, Iva Morey (Robert), as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Norma Wright and Charlotte Knudsen.
Thelma enjoyed crafting and going to craft shows, gardening, birdwatching, quilting, crocheting and camping with the Blue Jays club.
A private graveside service will be held at the Glenwood Cemetery Afton, New York.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Auburndale, Florida.
