Obituary of Kara Morgan-Neer

Kara Morgan-Neer, 52, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2025, at her home in Otego, New York. Born on July 26, 1972, in Oneonta, New York, Kara lived a life marked by compassion, creativity, and deep devotion to her family. A proud graduate of Delaware Academy in 1990, Kara pursued her passion for helping others through education. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Special Education from St. Rose College in 1994 and continued her studies to receive a Master's degree in Speech Pathology from St. Rose in 1996. Kara worked as a Speech Pathologist for Sidney Central School for 23 years where she was known affectionately as "Mrs. Neer" by her students. Her professional path was guided by empathy and care—qualities that extended beyond the classroom and into every aspect of her life. She found joy and peace through creative expression. Kara was a talented artist - painting with watercolors, capturing beauty through photography, and nurturing life in her garden. She also practiced Reiki, embracing its healing energy as part of her personal journey. Above all else, Kara cherished her role as a mother. Her sons, Aidan and Dylan, were the center of her world. She celebrated their achievements and milestones - big and small – glowing with pride. Kara is survived by her beloved husband, Jim Neer; their sons, Aidan and Dylan Neer; her dog, Flip; her brother Garett; and Aunt Ginny and Uncle Bob Pearcy. She was predeceased by her parents, Michael and Gail Morgan. Kara will be remembered as a great mom, wife, daughter, sister, coworker and friend. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. Calling hours will be held on June 15, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at C.H. Landers Funeral Home 21 Main Street in Sidney, NY followed by a Funeral Service June 16, 2025, at 10:00 AM.
