Othmar Robert Gerg passed away, peacefully, at his home in Bainbridge on April 29, 2025. He was born in Hancock, NY in 1937. He was a member of the class of 1956 at Bainbridge Central School. He served in the Navy from 1960 to 1964 as Petty Officer 3rd class. He served on destroyers in communications.

From 1964 to retirement, he was employed at the New York State Police, Troop C in Sidney, also in communications. One of his hobbies included drawing cartoons. He loved to hunt and fly fish, including tying flies. He is survived by five nieces and nephews. A private family memorial will be held at the cemetery at a later time.
