Obituary of Michelle McKown Goodrich
Please share a memory of Michelle to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Michelle (McKown) Goodrich, of Norfolk, VA and formerly of Sidney, NY, passed away on April 24, 2025, at the age of 57 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Michelle was born in Fayetteville, NC on September 12, 1967, to Betty and Dwight McKown. She graduated from Sidney High School in 1985. After graduating from Broome Community College in 1992, Michelle began her rewarding career as a paralegal. At the time of her passing, she was employed as a Bankruptcy Team Lead at Samuel I. White, P.C. in Norfolk, VA.
Michelle was full of life and would light up the room with her beautiful blue eyes, gorgeous smile and infectious laugh. She had an incredibly sharp memory and would have everyone laughing when she shared stories from her past. Michelle could find the humor in any situation and was always the first to laugh at herself.
Michelle engaged in several activities that brought her joy. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Michelle loved many genres of music and attended numerous concerts. The opportunity to travel to Spain was a dream come true for her. Michelle’s favorite sport was football; she was an avid fan of the New York Giants and the Buffalo Bills.
The greatest accomplishment Michelle had was being a mama (her daughter, Jordann, called her this). She shared a special bond with Jordann, and it always reminded her of what was most important in life. Michelle was so proud of the woman her daughter became when she, too, became a mother.
Michelle is survived by her parents, Betty and Dwight McKown; sister Kelli McKown; daughter Jordann Caracciolo and her boyfriend Mike Aubert; grandchildren Everleigh and Koen and uncle Bob Enk and partner Ana. She is also survived by her three lifelong friends Kim Ives, Denise Miner and Andy Goodrich. They supported her as she fought her illness with strength and grace.
At Michelle’s request, no services are planned at this time.
