Obituary of Madisyn Renee Oakes

Madisyn Renee Oakes, 17 of Bainbridge NY passed away Sunday, April 20, 2025 after a car accident in Bainbridge NY. Madisyn was born November 29th 2007 in Norwich NY to parents, Jessica Miller and Heath Oakes. Madisyn had a beautiful soul, and she was loved by many. She loved taking care of her bearded dragon and she was planning to bring home her puppy, Cierra, in the near future. She had such compassion and admiration for all animals. She had dreams of obtaining a degree in zoology from Florida University to be able to work with reptiles. This had been her dream since she was a little girl. Madisyn was part of National Honor Society and has always excelled in her academics. She was set to graduate from Bainbridge-Guilford High School this June. Madisyn is survived by her mother Jessica Miller, sisters Tamera Miller and Avalon Jones, grandparents William and Sharie Miller, Uncle Alan Miller, great grandma Shirley DeMott (Reggie) and her Aunt Bridget Gibbon (Mike). As well as other aunts, uncles and cousins. She is predeceased by her father, Heath Oakes and her great grandparents John and Alice Miller. Madisyn’s family and friends will miss her dearly. She was an amazing young woman who had a bright future ahead of her. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a domestic abuse organization with hopes to help raise awareness on the dangers of domestic abuse.
