Thomas Wayne Teehan, 80, of Mount Upton passed away April 23, 2025, peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Tom was born in Walton, NY on May 15, 1944. His parents were Shirley and Gerald Teehan. He graduated from Mount Upton High School in 1962. On July 23, 1963, he married the love of his life, Rita A. Odell. Tom worked for the Raymond Corporation in Greene, NY for 41 years, before retiring in 2007.
Tom loved sports. He loved to play golf and spent many years bowling in Bainbridge, even throwing a 300 game. He spent many years following local boys and girls high school basketball and always had his camera in hand to take pictures. He loved his favorite teams, the LA Dodgers, Boston Celtics, Notre Dame, Syracuse and the NY Giants. He rarely left the house without his fan gear on, always showing his team spirit! During football season family always watched the games at his house, it was a family tradition…..Go Big Blue!
Tom also loved spending time with family. Annual trips to Ocean City, MD were his favorite as well as getting everyone together for holidays.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Rita Teehan, daughter Deana (Dee) & Jeffrey DuFour, sister Denise & James Rothwell, grandchildren Danielle DuFour, Lee DuFour, Cassandra & Robert Vitek, Crista Hartwell & Christopher Teehan, along with great grandchildren and many special friends.
Tom was predeceased by his son Dion Teehan, parents Shirley & Gerald Teehan, brother Ronald Teehan, sisters Roxanne & Lisa Teehan.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Monday, April 28, 2025, at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main Street, Sidney, NY 13838. Friends and family are asked to dress casual – do not hesitate to sport Giants or other Fan gear to honor Tom's love of sports. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at 1 pm at the Godfrey Cemetery, Guilford.
