Edith Marie Krayna, 89, of Sidney, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at Binghamton General Hospital.

Edith was born on October 10, 1935 in Deposit, NY, daughter of the late Bert and Margaret (Halstead) Hendrickson.

Edith was a former store manager for Victory Market/Sidney Great American. She was married to Charles Crisell in 1955, a union that gave her two children before their divorce in 1976.

In 1980, she was married to Valentine Krayna. They relocated to the Syracuse area where she worked at M&T Bank as a teller, as well as at Howard Johnson as a night receptionist. Val predeceased her in 1995. Edith worked until the age of 70, remaining in Syracuse until 2018 when she returned to the Sidney area to be closer to her family.

She enjoyed reading and writing letters to the editor of the newspapers on issues she was passionate about. She also loved playing Bingo on her tablet. Before her health began to fail, Edith also enjoyed crocheting and gardening.

In addition to her parents and husband Val, Edith was predeceased by her son, David, and several siblings including special sisters, Ruth and Betty.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Crisell, 3 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, boyfriend John Gardner, and many nieces and nephews.

At Edith's request, there will be no funeral services. In her memory, memorial donations may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the American Cancer Society, or a charity of one's choice.
