Obituary of Charles "Chick" Spathelf Jr.

Charles R. (Chick) Spathelf, Jr., 79, of Mt. Upton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 17, 2025. He was born on February 25, 1946 in Scranton, PA.
He was predeceased by his father, Charles R. Spathelf, Sr.; mother, Marion (nee Palmer) Hunt and stepfather, Lloyd Hunt; brother, Frank and sister-in-law, Yvonne.
He was a Vietnam Veteran who served in the US Army from his enlistment in 1966 until his honorable discharge from the reserve in 1972.
Charles is survived by his loving wife, Bertha (nee Carney) Spathelf, and children Stacy and Juston. He was a wonderful grandfather to Jackie (Rob), Hailey, Zachary and Juston (JT). He is also survived by his siblings, Jere Spathelf, Tamee (Ron) (nee Hunt) Bradbury, and Raymond (Linda) Hunt.
Chick worked as a truck driver for Husted and Mirabito. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, going to NASCAR races, playing horseshoes, softball, camping at the lake, and spending time with family and friends.
