Obituary of Randy "Guppy" Wilson

Randy "Guppy" Gale Wilson, age 66, of Mount Upton, New York, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. Known for his generous heart, kindness, and understanding, Guppy lived a life filled with purpose, joy, and deep love for his family, friends, and community. Guppy had an immense love for animals. For many years, he organized and led local tractor-pull fundraisers, with proceeds benefiting children in need. Born on March 17, 1959, in Cortland, New York, Guppy developed a lifelong love for cars. He enjoyed working on them and attending NASCAR races with family and friends. Go Sterling Marlin! Guppy owned and operated R and M Auto Body Garage in Mount Upton, where he proudly served his community. He cherished working alongside his father and brother, whom he lovingly referred to as the "know-it-all sons." Guppy is survived by his sisters Sherry, Audrey (Rick), and Robin; his wife, Mel; his brother, Mark; his lifelong friend, Dave Porter; his daughters, Jen and Erin (Dan); his grandchildren, Tylar, Calin, Gage, Braylon, Brielle, Emily, and Ryan; his great-grandchildren, Brindyn and Khysiah; as well as many aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins. He also leaves behind his cat Lanny who was a faithful companion to Guppy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gale and Sandy Wilson. In memory of Randy Wilson, donations can be made to either Guilford Fire Department or Mount Upton Fire Department. Visitation will be held on April 25th from 5:00-7:00pm at C.H.
