Obituary of Lois G. Knowles
Please share a memory of Lois to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Lois G. Knowles, 87, passed away peacefully with family by her side, on April 7, 2025. Lois was born in Oneonta, NY to Freeland and Gertrude Cornell in 1937. She resided in Sidney for over 50 years and retired from Keith Clark after 40+ years of service.
Lois is survived by two daughters, Caryn Seymour and Donna Jorett, four grandchildren, Tricia (Chris) Luca, Paul (Nicole) Jorett, Dawn Jorett, and Tori Seymour, and eight great-grandchildren, Cameron and Parker Luca, Aaron and Aiden Jorett, Angelina and Donald Titus IV, Zoey, Aubree, and Tripp Seymour, along with several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Lois is predeceased by her husband, William Knowles, a daughter, Diane Rodriguez, two grandsons, Timothy Seymour and Donald Titus III, and her brother, Duane Cornell.
Lois enjoyed sewing, quilting, crossword puzzles, and The Price is Right (she rarely missed a show, having taped it on VHS when she was at work – she was even known to tape over home videos a time or two). She was an avid supporter of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, having attended many, if not all, of their sporting and school events.
At Lois’ wishes, there will be no funeral at this time. Friends and family are invited to a burial and get together on August 15, 2025, starting at the Oneonta Plains Cemetery at 12 pm and ending at Gilbert Lake State Park.
In lieu of flowers, please consider sending a donation to your local animal shelter and in the words of the famous Bob Barker, “help control the pet population, have your pets spayed or neutered.”
