Obituary of Kenneth Kenyon

Kenneth Kenyon, after a long life of independence, passed away on his 96th birthday. One of Ken's favorite periods of his life was spending summers on his grandfather's farm doing chores with his family. He would often describe his grandmother's apple pies and homemade ice cream. His tales of farm life in the 1930's gave several generations of his family insight into the hardships and joys of rural life during the depression. To this day, when we travel through the farmlands of Guilford and Sidney, New York we fondly remember the stories he told us. Ken was an avid fisherman and is responsible for the next two generations of his family having a passion for fishing. Every year we fish the same rivers that Ken taught us to fish when we were young. In recent years we used our mobile phones to call him from the river to report what we caught. Using his photographic memory, he would ask where we were and then go on to describe the surrounding area that we were calling from. It was uncanny the details that he would remember. When the Korean War broke out Ken volunteered to serve his country as an Airborne Ranger. After graduation from Drexel University, he and his wife, Beverly, raised their son, Paul, in Livonia, Michigan, where Ken dedicated his career to Ford Motor Company. Following Beverly's passing in 1979, Ken found purpose volunteering with Habitat for Humanity. There he met his second wife, Roxanna Weller. They enjoyed many happy years of marriage before Roxanna's passing in 2018. Ken is survived by his son, Paul of Cincinnati; a grandson, Tyler (Stephanie); two great-grandchildren, Declan and Griffin; nephew, Rick (Randi) Roach; niece, Kathy (Jim) Roach Byrne and many grand nieces and nephews. His family expresses their sincere appreciation to Ken's neighbors and church family for their dedicated support, which allowed him to maintain his independence. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at 10:00am. Donations may be made to Habitat for Humanity.
