Please share a memory of William to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
William H. McCaslin, 80, of Bainbridge, NY, passed away on March 21, 2025. Bill was born on November 11, 1944 at the hospital in Bainbridge to Charles and Doris (Banks) McCaslin. He married his loving wife, Dawn Ruling, sharing 59 years. Together they had two children, Robin Pierson (Todd) and Ginger McCaslin, who is the guardian angel of the family. He loved his granddaughters, Heather Umbra #1 (Parker), and Brienna Collingwood # 1 ½. His great-granddaughters, Avery and Alivia, brought him greater joy in his later years of life and he was looking forward to meeting his great-grandson. Bill had two very special brothers, Tim McCaslin (Elaine) and Bob McCaslin (predeceased), as well as several nieces and nephews. Bill was a meat manager at Great American for 36 years, retiring in 1999. He also enjoyed doing work with his backhoe and dump truck. He was a very active member of the Bainbridge Sportsman's Club and would spend hours in his workshop making projects for family, friends and donations. In true Wild Bill cowboy fashion, he loved to shoot his guns and reload bullets. A few of the many special people that touched his life, and he enjoyed were Ken Ellis, Bob Pierson, George Hunt and Jim Leonard. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Bainbridge Sportsman's Club, PO Box 212, Bainbridge, NY 13733, or Uncle Bear's Truck Show c/o Julie Fuller, 17 Bennett St. Bainbridge, NY 13733. A Celebration of Life will be held April 26, 2025 at the Bainbridge Sportsman's Club from 12:00-5:00pm.
