James Crysler McKnight, known to friends and family as Jim, passed away peacefully in his home in Upstate New York on March 20, 2025, at the age of 64.

Born on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1961, in Port Byron, NY, Jim was the beloved son of James Richard McKnight and Virginia Dean (Hargraves) McKnight, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also predeceased by his youngest brother, Kelvin Jon McKnight.

Jim proudly served his country overseas in the U.S. Army before continuing his commitment to service by re-enlisting in the Army Reserves for several years.

For more than a decade, Jim dedicated his career to working as staff at a Residential Reentry Center, where he provided structure, guidance, and support to individuals transitioning back into the community.

He is survived by his son, James "Jimmy" McKnight; his older brother, Kim Richard McKnight (wife Tina); his older sister, Lisa Colavito; and sister-in-law, Penny McKnight. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and their children, who will cherish his memory.

A private memorial service will be held with close family.

Jim will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his country, and his work. He will be deeply missed.
