Obituary of Grace P. Lee
Please share a memory of Grace to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Grace P. Lee. Born March 29, 1930, she left us on March 17, 2025, just shy of her 95th birthday. She was a woman of extraordinary strength, kindness, and resilience. She was predeceased by her loving husband Doug, to whom she was married almost 60 years. She was also predeceased by her son, John Lee; parents, Jim and Mary Puerile, her brother, J. Pat Puerile, her brother-in-law, Dick Lee and sister-in-law, Betty Lee.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathy (Jim) Lord; son, Keith (Naomi) Lee; daughter, Annie (Sean) Henry; and daughter-in-law, Carin Lee; grandchildren: Jaimie(Randy) Gransbury, Jessica Smith, Julianne (Mike) Reif, Austin Lee, Doug Lee, Kayla (Matt) Millett and Nate Henry; great-grandchildren: JP Gransbury, Mason Smith, Sydney Smith, Brysen Reif and Gannon Millet; sister-in-law, Freda Puerile; as well as many nieces and nephews. We would also like to mention her dear friend Harvey Fletcher.
Her long life encompassed many roles, from farming and sewing to running her own fabric shop and advocating for the elderly. This latter role was so special to her, culminating in receiving the prestigious Service to Mankind Award from the Afton Sertoma Club and a commendation from former Senator Libous.
Her dedication to family and her community shone through everything she did. She also greatly valued the friendships she forged through bowling, pitch league, Rotary, and through her many years of caring for others. We'll treasure the memories of her unique bowling style! She never played a card game that she didn't enjoy and loved her occasional casino trips when she was able.
Grace was defined by her vibrant spirit and her loving heart. Her passing leaves a hole in our lives, but the legacy of her love and generosity will continue to inspire us.
