Obituary of Rochelle S. Knapp

Rochelle Susan Knapp, 54, of Sidney Center, passed away on February 21, 2025. She was born on April 13, 1970, in Oneonta, the daughter of Harry Knapp Jr and Gail Knapp. Rochelle graduated from Sidney High School and later attended Cazenovia College, where she studied Fashion Merchandising. She worked at Sidney Federal Credit Union for 20 years, where she was known for her kindness and dedication. Rochelle was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and aunt. She is survived by her husband, Dwain, her children, Zachary, Jacob (Danielle Ebert), and Sawyer, her parents, Harry and Gail Knapp, and her siblings, Terri and Matthew (Annie Knapp). She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Rochelle was predeceased by her grandparents and mother-in-law. Rochelle was known for her boundless love for her family, her friends, and her pets. She found joy in swimming in her pool and spending time in the sun. Her kindness touched everyone she met, and she had a unique way of always putting others before herself. A running joke among her coworkers, friends, and family was her constant use of the word “sorry”, to the point where her coworkers suggested starting a “sorry” jar, charging her 25 cents every time she said it. Her family and friends will miss her deeply, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, for those that would like to honor Rochelle in some way, the family feels that she would have wanted donations to be made to the Delaware Valley Humane Society, PO Box 182, Sidney, NY 13838. Friends are invited to calling hours from 2pm to 6pm on Wednesday, February 26th at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main Street, Sidney. The funeral service will be held at 11am on Thursday, February 27th at the funeral chapel. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Sidney.
