Mildred L. Scott

Mildred Lucy Scott, 96 of Afton passed away Saturday, January 9, 2010 at the Residential Healthcare Facility at Chenango Memorial Hospital in Norwich. She was born July 3, 1913, daughter of the late Carl H. and Nina (Billings) Scott in Afton. Mildred was employed as a clerk for the Afton Pharmacy when she retired. She was a member of the Afton United Methodist Church since 1923 and she sang in the choir for over 65 years. She was also a past member of the Afton Senior Citizens, the Afton Historical Society and the Jericho Historical Society.

Mildred is survived by several cousins and many dear friends that have been her family for years.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 15, 2010 at the Afton United Methodist Church at 2:00pm. Pastor Dolly Tarreto will officiate. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery in Afton at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mildred's name to the Afton United Methodist Church, 36 Spring Street Afton, NY 13730. Condolences may be sent online at www.landersfh.com.
