On October 13, 1956, Peter married Marga Strang in Sidney, where they started and raised their family, daughter, Laurie S. and son, Peter T. In 1954, he began a career in engineering at Bendix in Sidney. He also worked for Bendix in Dallas for 4 years and in Washington D.C. for 2 years. He always enjoyed traveling and doing business with Bendix's many customers from around the world. He retired from the company in 1988 as Director of Marketing.
