Albert William Koepke, 71, passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2018.  He was born on June 30, 1946 in Wilkes Barre, PA, son of the late Albert A. Koepke and Yvonne (Davis) Koepke.  He graduated from Unadilla Central High School in 1964 and enlisted in the US Army.  He was stationed in Germany and was honorably discharged in 1968.

Following his discharge, he worked at Bendix Corp. as a plater.  In 1987, he obtained his CDL license and began driving truck, retiring in 2001.  

Al had a passion for trains and local history.  He loved visiting the Amish country and enjoyed model cars. 

He is survived by:  his wife, Deborah L. Koepke; three children:  Fred and Joy Harris, Albert and Kerry Koepke and Yvonne Koepke; three grandchildren:  Kailey, Carter and Landen Harris; brother, Kevan Koepke; sister, Joy and Mike Moore; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews and great-grandnieces and nephews and cousins. 

Al was predeceased by his father, Albert A. Koepke and his mother, Yvonne Musson, as well as his brother, Kenneth Koepke, and his sister, Faith Schrier. 

A celebration of life will be held on Monday, April 16 from 1:00-3:00pm at the Sidney American Legion, 22 Union St. Sidney, NY 13838.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Albert’s memory may be directed to the Wounded Warrior Project or to the American Heart Association.
