Obituary of William L. Stafford

Please share a memory of William to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

William Stafford, Afton, NY

Friends and family are invited to a memorial program honoring Bill’s military service on Saturday, September 23, at 2:00 PM in Eastside Cemetery in Afton. The service will be conducted by the Sidney American Legion.

Those who knew Bill realized his passion for helping anyone in need with a helping hand, financial boost or a kind word.

Through the years he gave time and support to the Afton Fair, Afton Historical Society, Afton Community Theater, Tax Grievance Board, the Food Pantry, the Cemetery Association and Hope Congregational Church.  Bill was also a member of the Sidney Moose Club and was caregiver and proprietor of Stafford Home for Adults in Afton for 10 years.

The highlight of his life was driving bus for the Afton Central School.  He always had encouraging greetings for the wonderful young people who rode his bus for the past 17 years.

Condolences and memories of Bill may be shared online at www.landersfh.com
