Elaine Barre Young Bradish, Masonville, NY Elaine Barre Young Bradish passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2017. She was born in Binghamton on October 22, 1924 to M. Clifford Barre and Alice (Cullen) Barre. She was predeceased by her parents; her brother, James C. Barre; her step-father, Arthur Wearne; stepbrother, Leonard and his wife, Jessie Wearne and stepbrother, Clifford Wearne. Elaine first married Everett Young on October 12, 1946; he predeceased her June 3, 1983. She then married Ward Bradish January 9, 1993; he predeceased her September 22, 2009. She is survived by two daughters and their husbands: Judith and Jonathan Seeley and Jeri and Lynn Brayman, III all of Masonville; brother-in-law, Thornton Young of Bainbridge; sister-in-law, Alice Wearne of Afton; nephews, James Barre, Denis Young and Jack Skowronek, and nieces, Darla Colvard and Gloria Skowronek. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and spouses: Jonna Dann, Jeri (John) North, Jason (Rebecca) Seeley, Jodi (Daniel) McCann, Duane (Crystal) Brayman, Eric (Kimberly) Brayman, Neil (Jodi) Brayman; 17 great-grandchildren: Justin (Abigail) North, Alisa, Kayla and Melinda North, Aaron and Autumn Dann, Mackenzie, Troy and Luke Brayman, Everett, Jacob and Marian Brayman, Brandon Kane, Julia and Daniel McCann and Liam and Cole Seeley; and 2 great-great grand children, Caroline Rae and Cooper North; as well as dear friends, Lois and Jess Lavoie. After graduating from Bainbridge Central High School in 1942, Elaine worked at the Borden Company in Bainbridge, the Office of Price Administration in Washington, DC, and Scintilla Magneto Company in Sidney until the end of WWII. She then worked at the American Plastics in Bainbridge doing payroll. She was a stay-at-home Mom for eleven years before going back to work in the Data Processing Dept. at the Bendix Corp. in Sidney, retiring in 1988 with 32 years of service. Elaine had been a member of the Holstein Friesian Assoc. with her husband Everett, and treasurer of the Bainbridge-Guilford Alumni Association for many years. Mormon Hollow Farm in Masonville has been her life for nearly 70 years, and along with her family, was the most valued part of her life. A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, April 8th in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Bainbridge. A celebration of Elaine's life will follow from 12:00-2:00pm at the Masonville Federated Church in Masonville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her memory may be directed to the Masonville Emergency Squad and Fire District. Condolences may be shared with the family online at www.landersfh.com.
